COVID-19 Can’t Afford Isle of Wight Ferry Prices
Low COVID-19 infection rates on the Isle of Wight have turned out to be caused by “unaffordable” ferry prices. The virus simply cannot afford to infect the Island.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the Isle of Wight has enjoyed exceptionally low infection rates compared to the rest of the UK and world. Widespread speculation suspected the river Solent as responsible.
This has turned out to be only partially correct. In fact, the extortionately high price of ferry crossings between the mainland and the Island are the true reason behind the low infection rate. COVID-19 viruses simply do not have the funds available to regularly make the journey. Our reporter Dave Flax spoke with one.
“It’s daylight robbery!” said virus Cory Vid (19). “Here I am just trying to scrape a living by doing my job and these ferry companies think it’s okay to charge these prices? I have quotas to fill, if I don’t I could lose my job!”.
