Breaking Bad Mistaken as Teacher Training Video
Hit AMC US drama Breaking Bad has been mistakenly used by the Isle of Wight Council as a teacher training video.
Complete box-sets of the series were sent out to schools across the Isle of Wight during the October half term. Science teachers in particular were made to watch the show during a teacher training weekend aimed at improving student-teacher performance in chemistry.
“My suspicious were first aroused when I found out I was enjoying myself,” said Biology teacher Clement Freud. “I have never had the urge after watching one teacher training video, to carry on and watch fifteen more.”
Whilst Mr Freud and many teachers became suspicious, the mistake was not noticed by the council until recently.
“We did not become aware of this error until we discovered a large and increasingly frequent amount of teacher absences.” said Councillor Edna Winkleman.
“I just couldn’t resist watching the next episode.” said Claude Smith.
An investigation led the Island Education Authority discovered that teachers had become bed ridden, watching Netflix for days on end, consuming nothing but pizza and microwave popcorn.
One teacher (Politics teacher Alan Patrickson), who had not realised like others that there was a mix-up, actually created his own Meth Lab. He was detained at the Scottish border attempting to smuggle seventeen kilos of high-grade crystal meth into Glasgow.
The council has not yet formally apologised for the mistake, but have announced a rehabilitation scheme for teachers who have had their health affected.
